The Super Eagles are still rated as the 66th best team in the world, after the latest FIFA rankings were released on Thursday.
Nigeria finished 2015 in the same position, but have now lost one point, dropping to 540 from 541.
This means the former African champions are not among the top 10 footballing nations on the continent.
Ivory Coast remain the highest-ranked country and are 19th in the world.
Belgium are still number one in the world and the top five places are completed by Argentina, Spain, Germany and Chile.
