Nigeria vs South Africa AFCONQ in Uyo

The Super Eagles maintained their 42nd position in the newest FIFA world rankings released today.

Nigeria failed to qualify for the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations tournament, after they were held to a 2-2 draw by South Africa in Uyo.

Stephen Keshi had guided the team to a 2-0 win over Congo days before and the Eagles needed a win to be absolutely sure of qualification.

Nigeria is now the ninth-placed country on the continent, behind Algeria, Cote d’Ivoire, Tunisia, Ghana, Cameroon, Cape Verde, Guinea and Senegal.
