Nigeria on the verge of collapsing – PFN

The Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, PFN, Monday, raised the alarm that Nigeria was nearing its end as a country.

Chairman of the PFN in Enugu State, Bishop Dr. Goddy Madu, who expressed the concern said President Muhammadu Buhari and the security agencies had failed in their duties of keeping the country together.

Madu, in a statement made available to journalists in Enugu said the endless massacre of hapless Nigerians by suspected Fulani herdsmen was an indication that government had failed in its duties.

He said, “the senseless killing of innocent citizens in Benue State by herdsmen in a democratic nation is quite unfortunate.

“As it is today, Benue, Nassarawa, Taraba and Plateau States have become graveyards for innocent citizens of Nigeria. This is wicked, evil.”

The PFN leader queried: “What is the Chief Security Officer and commander-in-chief of the nation and other security agencies doing to protect the lives of their citizens?

“The police, Army, DSS, Civil Defence have not arrested or prosecuted a single soul over all the killings going on here and there.

“Is this a calculated plot to wipe away all the Christians in the middle belt in order to Islamize it? I want to sound this caution that Nigeria is on the verge of collapsing.

“I call on political leaders and the international community to rise up and stop the Fulani herdsmen from further killings in Nigeria. We cannot claim to be one Nigeria anymore.

“May I advise the Fulani herdsmen to go to Sambisa Forest to grave their cattles and leave other people’s farmland. They have enough land in Sambisa which accommodate them and their cattle.”

While expressing sadness over the New Year killings in Rivers State, Madu commended the Enugu State Governor, Rt. Hon Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi “for his security measure to secure lives and properties, which had been attacked by the same Fulani herdsmen two years ago.
