Head coach of the Super Eagles, Sunday Oliseh, has admitted that his team are not ready for the 2016 African Nations Championship.

The home-based side were held to a 1-1 draw by Angola on Wednesday in a warm-up game played in Pretoria.

“I am happy with the way they played, but we’re not yet ready for CHAN,” Oliseh stated.

The former national team captain, explained that the squad have to cope with injuries and high altitude.

“We played the game without strikers because our two top strikers (Tunde Adeneji and Chisom Chikatara) are injured and we also have to get use to the high altitude,” he said.

The Eagles take on Cote d’Ivoire in another friendly on Monday.

Nigeria won bronze in their CHAN debut two years ago in South Africa.
