1. Two persons, including a suicide bomber, were in the early hours of Monday killed and two soldiers injured in a bomb attack in Maiduguri, Borno State.
A male suicide bomber detonated explosives at a shop along Baga road Maiduguri, killing himself and one other person, some residents said.

2. Two principal suspects Kabiru Seidu, 31, aka “Osama” and Nuhu Salihu, 25, aka ‘Small’ who allegedly implicated Senator Dino Melaye in the alleged offences of criminal conspiracy, illegal possession of firearms and illegal arms dealing have denied committing the offences.
The suspected criminals, who appeared before a Kogi Senior Magistrate Court, Lokoja on Monday alongside the embattled lawmaker, declared that the allegations were false and they were not guilty when their pleas were taken.
3. The immediate past Ekiti State Commissioner for Justice and Attorney-General, Mr. Owoseni Ajayi, has defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC)
Owoseni Ajayi while announcing his defection, told newsmen on Monday that he quit the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to join forces with the APC candidate, Dr Kayode Fayemi to win the July 14th election.

4. The Chairman of the defunct National Electoral Commission, Humphrey Nwosu, has hailed President Muhammadu Buhari for recognising June 12 as Nigeria’s Democracy Day.
He also saluted Buhari for honouring the memory of Moshood Abiola, the presumed winner of the 1993 election in a letter sent to the president on Monday and obtained by DAILY POST.
5. Femi Fani-Kayode, former Aviation minister, has instituted a suit against the Minister of Information and Culture, Mr. Lai Mohammed, over the inclusion of his name in the looters’ list recently released by the Federal Government.
Speaking during Monday’s proceedings on the case, the former minister’s lawyer, Ferdinand Orbih informed Justice Rilwan Aikawa that his application against Mohammed was brought pursuant to the provisions of the Sheriffs and Civil Processes Act, as well as the Court’s Civil Procedure Rules.
