Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, has reacted to the death of seven policemen who were on Monday night killed after suspected gunmen opened fire at a stop-and-search duty post in Galadimawa, Abuja.

It was gathered that the suspected armed men were stopped for search by the police when they opened fire on them. This resulted in the killing of seven of the officers while one was seriously injured.

DAILY POST recalls that the FCT Commissioner of Police, Sadiq Bello, while confirming the incident reassured members of the public that it has deployed proactive security measures to protect lives and property in the nation’s capital.

However, reacting to the sad incident, Atiku, extended his condolences to the families and colleagues of the seven policemen killed in Abuja in the line of duty on Tuesday.

He said, “Nigeria must show, by words and action, that the lives of our armed forces and the police and indeed, of any Nigerian matter to us.

”Even one loss of life is a loss too many.”
