Former Nigeria Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, has affirmed that Nigeria will never be taken seriously among the comity of nations, unless its leaders welcome good management practises in all their dealings.

Atiku said this when management of the Nigerian Institute of Management, NIM, paid him a visit in Yola, Adamawa State capital. He said “If we want to be taken seriously in the comity of nations, it is high time we embraced good management practises in all our dealings as individuals, organisations and as a nation because good management practices breed good governance and a working economy.”

He further stressed that efficient management of human and material resources has been identified as a key factor to the success and continued survival of any organisation and sustainable national development.

He said “Just like efficient management of both men and materials is critical and key to every organisation’s continued survival in business, it is even more germane to a nation’s economy and general outlook.

“Management is life and we cannot divorce it from our daily lives as individuals beginning from the home front to our businesses, leadership positions in both private and private organisations and the nation. Since we cannot, but continue managing at different levels , we have no choice than to embrace good and efficient management.”
