“Nigeria is safer under Jonathan than Buhari” – Abia PDP candidate

The People’s Democratic Party, PDP candidate in Abia State, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, has urged Nigerians to re-elect President Goodluck Jonathan.

Addressing a crowd from the Isingwu Community at the house of a PDP chieftain in the area, Onyedi Okwulehie, Ikpeazu said the unity of the country will be retained and security assured under President Jonathan than the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, General Mohammad Buhari.

On his agenda for the state, Ikpeazu promised to create 5000 jobs within his first year in office, assuring that job creation is top on his agenda.

Ikpeazu, who described Isingwu, a part of Ohuhu land, as a “cradle of politics in the south-east ” said his government will be youths and idea driven.

The gubernatorial candidate further reaffirmed that he will run a government of inclusiveness that will incorporate the youths.

Earlier, the member representing Ohuhu (Umuahia North State constituency) in the state House of Assembly, Hon. Emeka Ejiogu said that the promises made at the gathering were a covenant with the people.

He told the people to expect adequate commitment that will drive development in the area.

The legislator pledged that the roads in the community will be looked at in the next dispensation, while existing health institutions in the area will be more equipped.

Speaking, the representatives of the community, Chief Anozie Nwokoma, Mrs. Ahuruchi Ibegbulem, Reverend Sam Ekeledo and Hon. Ugochukwu Ezeocha announced their unalloyed support for Ikpeazu and the PDP.

They urged Ikpeazu to reconstruct the access roads to the community, equip their health centres and create jobs for the youths of the community when elected.

Similarly, the Yoruba community in the State led by Dr. Eniola Jide, pledged their support for the PDP in the State.

They further assured the ruling party of a bloc vote during the polls in March and April.

Also speaking, Mr. Nnaji Obed Asiegbu appealed to the community to vote en masse for the PDP in the forthcoming elections.

According to him, the party and its candidate, Dr Ikpeazu would carry on with the good works started by Abia State Governor, Theodore Orji. .
