Nigeria is God’s chosen country, it will never break up – Governor Jang

Governor Jonah Jang of Plateau State said “Nigeria is God’s chosen country”, saying the nation will never break up as predicted in some quarters, affirming that “the whole world would not understand the purpose of Nigeria’.

He disclosed this on Tuesday when the President of Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor led Clerics from the North Central part of the country paid him a courtesy call.

According to him, “Let me say this loud and clear. This is God’s chosen country. God has a purpose for Nigeria, particularly at this end time.

People who think, Nigeria will not continue to exist didn’t even bring together Nigeria as a nation. Is God who brought Nigeria together as a nation and he did not say he is tired of Nigeria, hence he will not break it.

Adding that, “We are like the children of Israel; the whole world would not understand the purpose of Nigeria. But, God will reveal it soon, if anybody thinks Nigeria will ever collapse, the person is wasting his time. This nation will continue to grow very strong and will be accomplishing God’s purpose before the return of our Lord Jesus Christ.

He said, “God is going to move this nation in his own direction and his perfection would be accomplished.

Jang further stated that, “Of the billions of people God has created and are still living on this earth, there is nobody’s road that crosses the other, we don’t have junctions. Everybody’s road is straight; you meet all kinds of things that have been planned for you.

“If God says you are going to be Chairman of a Local Government, Governor or President; has he given you the time? So why do you start fighting and want to kill somebody, because you think they stand on your way? God is not a God of confusion, and you will follow your line.

“If not for your prayers and if not for our God, who answers prayers, where would this nation be? People think, the whole world is collapsing on Nigeria. People have made all kinds of prediction, that Nigeria, by 2015 will no more exist.

Jang further explained that, “We have observed the role you have played in this nation since you became the President of (CAN). Sir we are happy and proud of you.

“We are a mixed society. Sometimes when I read in the papers insults that are being thrown on you, I just say God forgive them for they do not know what they are doing, because people don’t know the implication of abusing somebody, who has the anointing of God on him.

“Perhaps one day they will understand and come to seek for forgiveness from God.

“But as a child of God, you have never returned any insult back, rather, when you try to explain, they don’t even understand. God will continue to guide you.”

He thanked the CAN President, other clerics and the entire Christian community for their prayers for the President, Goodluck Jonathan, and others whom God has given the privilege to govern and the nation.

The Governor urged the Clergy and the entire populace not to give up on the nation, saying the nation is just passing through a phase.

In his earlier remarks, the CAN President called on the clergy, royal fathers and politicians to come together and devise better ways for the country.

According to him, “The clergy, royalty and politicians must meet. I have a strong feeling that if these three groups come together. If we lock ourselves in a room, the key players in this country, we shut the door and throw the key out of the window and tell ourselves the truth, I suspect that in 24hours Nigeria will move faster than what it is today.

He added that, “These three groups of people directly or indirectly hold the key to whatever happens to this great nation. I’m looking forward to something like that.

The CAN President commended the state government and all security agencies for their efforts in ensuring that peace returns to Plateau and the nation as a whole.

Plateau State is a symbol of our collective dream of what Nigeria should be. It’s a great place. Jos is the city that everyone would want to come to.

He commended Governor Jang for his developmental strides, despite the security challenges that has bedeviled the State.

Oritsejafor said the men of God identify with the struggles and victories of the Plateau people.
