The Super Eagles of Nigeria are now ranked 33rd in the world, according to October’s FIFA rankings.
It represents a significant leap for the African champions, who dropped one place to number 36 in the September FIFA rankings.
In the rankings released today, Cote d’Ivoire are still the top ranked African country in 17th position, while Ghana occupies the 23rd spot. Algeria (32nd) and Mali (41st) complete the top five from the continent.
The top five countries in the world are Spain, Germany, Argentina, Colombia and Belgium.
