Nigeria election Result: What Atiku, other presidential candidates should do – Adamawa govt

Governor Mohammed Bindow of Adamawa State has congratulated President Muhammadu Buhari on defeating Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party in the just concluded presidential election.

This was contained in a statement signed on Wednesday by Mr Macauley Hunohashi, Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to the governor, in Yola, NAN reports.

Bindow said Buhari’s success at the just concluded polls was a reflection of his good and visionary leadership over the last four years.

He urged other presidential candidates including Atiku Abubakar to take the outcome as the yearnings of Nigerians.

“You have led Nigeria and our party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), to an unprecedented height within fours years, and in so doing, written the most important chapter of our democracy.

“Nigerians should remain calm and peaceful during this process of electioneering stressing that,as this election has further demonstrated that democracy has come to stay in our country.”

Bindow further commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the security agencies over the conduct of the polls.

President Buhari was declared winner by INEC having polled 15,191,847 votes to defeat Atiku Abubakar of the PDP, who scored 11,262,978.
