The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has declared Dr. Bashiru Dawodu and Engr. Ganiyu Johnson of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as winner of the House of Representatives seat for Oshodi-Isolo Federal Constituencies I and II respectively in the just-concluded election.

Dawodu got 11,435 votes to unseat the PDP member, Hon. Mutiu Shadimu with 9,343, who is currently occupying the position, while Johnson scored 19,426 to beat his PDP challenger, Hon. Emmanuel Nnodimu who scored 15,872 votes.

Although the election was disrupted in some polling units in Isolo LCDA and the exercise could not take place, it is not yet known whether there would be rerun of the elections in those polling units.

Meanwhile, the Lagos State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr. Kehinde Bamigbetan has congratulated the elected House of Representatives members in Oshodi-Isolo constituencies I and II, Hon. Ganiyu Johnson and Hon. Bashiru Dawodu, saying their victory at the last Saturday’s polls was well deserved.

In a statement on Monday, the Commissioner said the duo has made the party proud, saying the victory is for the benefit of whole Oshodi-Isolo as people would now enjoy the dividends of democracy which they have been deprived of since four years ago.

He said the declaration of the results by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) at Owoseni Primary School, Oshodi, venue of the Oshodi-Isolo LGA Collation Center on Monday, which were in favour of the party, indicated that APC has succeeded in reversing the four-year tenure of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
