Obo Effanga, the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) in Rivers, on Wednesday, assured the people that all the sensitive election materials would be moved to the local government areas on Thursday.
Effanga gave the assurance during the batching and inspection of the election materials by the party agents and other stakeholders at the Central Bank of Nigeria in Port Harcourt.
The Resident Electoral Commissioner said electoral officials were checking the content of each of the parcels to ensure that it marched with what they expect in their areas, NAN reports
“We started with the batching of the materials; so we brought out the already batched ones so that the political party representatives can witness.
“We are bringing out the new ones and also arranging them according to the corresponding local government areas.
“The electoral officials are checking the content of each of the parcels to ensure that it marches with what they expect in their areas.
“Peradventure there are mistakes that can be corrected at this stage the political parties here represented are observing what is going on.
“By the time we are through with the batching and inspections, we can now be moving them to their different local government areas.
“We are sure that we will move the items by tomorrow but whether we can finish with any of the LGA today and start moving them I am not too sure.
“This is because there are quite a lot of materials that we are sorting out and batching,’’ the REC said.
