Nigeria election: APC protest result in Delta

Delta State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its senatorial candidate for Delta North, Engr Doris Uboh have rejected the results announced in favour of Senator Peter Nwaoboshi of the People’s Democratic party ( PDP) by the Independent National Electoral Commission ( INEC), alleging manipulation of results and vowing that all legal works would be employed to reclaim its victory.

In a mild drama, the APC candidate, Engr Doris Uboh stormed into INEC’s hall in Asaba with a team of her supporters, shouting “oleh PDP”, as she submitted her protest letter to the INEC returning Officer, Dr Ignatius Ezeom, who was midway in announcing the results, but had to stop.

Although security agents prevented the angry APC candidate from almost disorganising the hall, her supporters angrily threatened in the open that there will be no peace unless the APC candidate is declared the winner as they sang war songs in Ika language.

Addressing journalists in the hall, the APC candidate said, “the results declared in favour of Senator Peter Nwaoboshi is fake. I have come to summit my letter rejecting the results, this outright rigged results. I will challenge the results at the court of law.

“PDP thumb-printed in the entire Ika. It was massively rigged. We will not accept this results, manipulated results. PDP stole APC votes.”

APC chieftain in the state, Jones Prophet Erue, while also speaking to journalists, corroborated that the party will be heading to court to reclaim its victory, adding that “APC rejects the entire results of Delta North senatorial election. It was rigged and manipulated”.
