Nigeria drops to 43rd position in last FIFA rankings of 2014

The December edition of the FIFA rankings, show that Nigeria have dropped one place to 43rd in the world and ninth in Africa.

Stephen Keshi’s men began the year in 41st position, after they were beaten 2-1 by Mali in the African Nations Championship.

Germany are still number one in the world and they finish the year in top place, for the first time since 1993. Argentina and Colombia complete the top three.

Algeria is the highest-ranked team in Africa, followed by Tunisia and Cote d’Ivoire. Ghana are fifth best on the continent and 37th in the world.
