The Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari has called on his teeming supporters to exercise patience with the INEC as they collate results across the federation.
The APC candidate, who is contesting the poll for the fourth time, gave the charge on his official Twitter page on Sunday evening.
He enjoined his supporters to be vigilant even as they wait on the electoral umpire for the final result.
There were unofficial results released online, which put the Daura-born retired General ahead of the highly-favoured President Goodluck Jonathan of the PDP.
Jonathan is currently occupying the seat.
The development had since sparked celebration in the camp of the APC candidate.
Meanwhile, INEC chairman, Prof Attahiru Jega is expected to announce the winner later tonight.
Buhari told his teeming followers to rather wait on the INEC.
“Fellow Nigerians, I urge you to exercise patience and vigilance as we wait for all results to be announced,” he tweeted.
