A former governor of Jigawa State, Sule Lamido, has condemned the postponement of the general elections by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Lamido faulted the shift during an interview with Channels Television on Saturday.
He raised concern about the postponement, especially as electoral materials were exposed and not under the custody of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) in some parts of the country.
“The consequence is that now that they have distributed sensitive materials, where are they going to keep them?
“So it’s not about who wins; it’s about Nigeria first and for now, Nigeria is lost out and this is very sad,” Lamido said.
Meanwhile, the Coalition of United Political Parties, CUPP on Saturday alleged plan by President Muhammadu Buhari to suspend INEC Chairman, Yakubu.
CUPP also alleged that President Buhari wants to replace Yakubu with Amina Zakari as Acting Chairman under the guise of INEC’s inability to conduct the presidential and National Assembly elections.
