The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has said collation of results is yet to begin in all its zonal centers in Niger state.

The Resident Electoral Commissioner, Professor Samuel Egwu, who confirmed this to newsmen, Sunday evening, said that results were still being expected from the local government areas.

According to him, all elections were concluded on Saturday across the state and there was no extension of voting anywhere.

“The delay in the arrival of results is due to the challenges of not being able to commence voting on time in some polling units due to cases of malfunction of card readers,” he said.

He also attributed the delay to the distance of some local government areas from Minna, the state capital.
