Nigeria Decides: Atiku floors Buhari in 3 out of 4 LGA’s released in Kogi

President Muhamadu Buhari of the All Progressive Congress (APC), lost to Alhaji Atiku Abubakar of the People Democratic Party (PDP) in Bassa Local Government area of Kogi State.

The result, which was collated in Oguma Headquarters of the LGA saw the incumbent President polling 7,377 votes against his opponent Atiku Abubakar who polled 10, 137 votes.

In the Senatorial election, Alhaji Jibril Isah Echocho of the APC polled 7,641 Votes, Atai Aidoko (PDP), 7,532 votes and Victor Adoji (ADC) 2,737 votes.

For the House of Representatives seat, APC Hassan Baiwa 7,271 votes, PDP Benjamin IOkolo 6,624 and ADC Positive Ihiabe 3, 558 votes.

In Mopamuro Local Government Area, Western part of Kogi State, President Muhammadu Buhari also lost to Atiku Abubakar as he polled 3646 votes against the PDP candidate, Atiku Abubakar who scored 5,336 votes.

Dino Melaye, the Peoples Democratic Party senatorial candidate in Kogi West appears to be coasting to victory in results declared so far by the Independent National Electoral Commission.

He won the highest votes in Mopamuro Local Government Area.

Melaye is seeking reelection for the second term into the red chamber of the National Assembly, with his toughest rival, Mr Smart Adeyemi of the APC.

Mr Ibrahim Ismaila, the INEC Collation Officer of Mopamuro LGA, announced the interim results at the collation centre in INEC LG office in Mopa on Sunday.

According to Ismaila, the PDP senatorial candidate, Melaye won 5112 votes, while his closest rival Smart Adeyemi of APC got 3658 votes, ADC 784 and SDP 26 votes out of the 9717 valid votes cast.

There were 336 rejected votes, making total votes cast to be 10055.

In the House of Representatives, the PDP also beat APC with 3703 votes. The APC got 3157 votes and ADC 2 609 votes.

A total of 10042 votes were cast while 9704 votes were valid while 338 votes were rejected.

He added that out of 10055 votes cast in the election, 336 were rejected while 9507 were accepted as valid.

Still in Kogi West, for Kabba /Bunu LGA presidential election, PDP scored 14,888 Votes while APC polled 9,131 votes.

For Senate, PDP polled 14,756 Votes while APC scored 8971 votes.

The scores was quite similar in the House of Representatives election as PDP polled 11, 786 votes against APC who scored 9,540 votes.

Away from that, in Ajaokuta LGA, central part of Kogi State, President Buhari defeated the PDP candidate.

According to the result announced, APC scored 13,253 votes while PDP polled PDP 10,707 votes.

For Senate, APC 10,426 votes, PDP 6,526 and SDP 8,182 votes.

Also, in the house of representatives election, APC polled 12,796 votes while PDP 10,891 votes.

Meanwhile, the Kogi State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party Presidential Campaign Council has warned Governor Yahaya Bello and the Independent National Electoral Commissioner, not to test the will of Kogi people by upturning the wishes and aspiration of the people as reflected in yesterday’s elections.

In a statement signed by Bode Ogunmola, secretary PDP Presidential Campaign Council, says the PDP having won in the Presidential, all Senatorial districts and federal constituency elections is worried that the governor working in connivance with INEC is manipulating the results.

The PDP PCC posited that the party’s presidential candidate won landslide in the state, said the party’s victory in the three senatorial districts and nine federal constituency is a matter all in the public domain, warned against tempering with the results.

The PDP pointed out that all polling units results in it possession, as gotten through its agents, certified by all the returning officers put the PDP in the lead in the elections, lamented that presently governor Yahaya Bello, is fraudulently trying to change figures to suit his whims.

The PDP PCC says Sen. Dino Melaye has not only won in seven local government areas of the constituency, in the three federal constituencies, the party disclosed too that it has equally won in two out of the federal constituencies in the West, Lokoja Kogi and Kabba Bunu Ijumu, warned against tempering with the peoples will and wish.

The PDP disclosed that having made a good showing in the East, lamented that the governor working with INEC and security personnel are moving from collation centres all in an attempt to frustrate the decision made by the people, warned the governor not to set the state on fire by his desperation.

The PDP PCC says the fraudulent election in the Central Senatorial District where results where outrightly written cannot stand, says it has evidence of widespread malpractice where results were just entered in to form ECA on the governor’s prompting.

The PDP PCC therefore call on the Kogi state REC, Prof James Apam, not to allow himself to be used, warning that changing figures and results as has began and is been contemplated by the APC led administration is a recipe for ceaseless crisis if not checked.

The PDP PCC therefore Call on its members, polling agents to keep their duplicate results sheets intact, and also asked the public to protect the public results displayed on all walls at polling units, as the APC led administration wants to be clever by half.

The PDP PCC urged INEC to without further delay announced all the results won by the PDP, warning that it should not stretch the peoples patience.
