Nigeria climb four places to 53rd in latest FIFA rankings

There was upward movement for Nigeria, as they rose four places to 53rd position in the latest FIFA rankings.

The Super Eagles were rated the 57th best team in the world last month – when they dropped down 14 places.

Nigeria still remain 10th best on the continent, with countries like Algeria (19), Cote d’Ivoire (21), Ghana (27), Tunisia (34), Senegal (39) and Cameroon (42) ranked higher.

Overall, Argentina maintains their number one spot. However, Belgium is now number two. The top five is completed by Germany (3), Colombia (4) and Brazil (5).

Chile (10th, up 1) have entered the top ten at the expense of the Netherlands (12th, down 7).
