Information reaching us, have it that gunmen today abducted Professor Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala’s mother in Ogwashi-Uku, Delta State.

Our sources say she was kidnapped at about 1.30pm, at her husband’s place at Ogbe-Ofu quarters in Ogwashi-Uku, by eight gunmen, who drove into the palace in two Audi cars.

The Minister of Finance’s mother, is the wife of His Majesty, Professor Chukwuka Aninshi Okonjo Agbogidi, the incumbent Obi of Ogwashi-Uku kingdom and is she is a trained medical doctor.

“Yes, we (police) have got the information on the kidnap and we have also got information that will lead to the arrest of the hoodlums,” Delta State police public relations officer, PPRO, Mr. Charles Muka confirmed.

Security has been reinforced at the palace and a manhunt for the Queen is on.
