The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), is yet to agree a new kit sponsorship deal with Adidas, with the current deal set to expire in about three weeks.
There have been negotiations on fresh terms worth around N2billion and president of the federation Amaju Pinnick told SL10.ng: “We are returning to Adidas for a fresh contract. I am positive that they will still be our kits sponsors and suppliers for a fresh deal.
“I can tell you that we are talking to them to sign a new contract before the end of December when the current deal runs out.”
However, it appears the talks are stalling as the giant German company, were not too impressed with the attitude of players and some officials of the team.
Adidas claimed that some players wore kits from rival company, Nike, at the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations and the 2014 World Cup. This forced Adidas to send the NFF a notice of termination of their partnership in June.
