The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), has rejected the chance to play a friendly match against Botswana.
The game was to celebrate the country’s 50th independence anniversary.
“The proposed friendly is off,” an official confirmed to AfricanFootball.
It is understood that the decision, may be connected to the NFF’s poor financial state at the moment.
Nigeria and Botswana have clashed only once in the past, which ended in a goal less draw in December 2011.
