Some of the Flying Eagles player, who failed to qualify for next year’s U-20 AFCON in Zambia, will be promoted to the Super Eagles squad.
Emmanuel Amuneke’s boys lost 4-3 in Lagos last week, despite winning 2-1 in Khartoum and missed out on away goals rule.
However, some of the players have impressed enough to be considered for the senior national team.
“We shall include some of the players who have distinguished themselves in the team in some of the senior team’s invitations as a means of monitoring and developing them after they failed to reach the U-20 World Cup where they should have exhibited their talents,” an NFF source told Complete Sports.
“The idea is to invite about three to five of the players to fight for places in the senior team and develop. We cannot allow such talents to vanish just like that. We shall help the players to fulfill their potential by giving them the chance to improve their game by training and playing with the Super Eagles.”
