The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), will hold a joint meeting with the Association of Professional Footballers of Nigeria (APFON) and the National Association of Nigerian Footballers (NANF) on Thursday.
According to the NFF president, Amaju Pinnick, the meeting has been called for, to settle the issues between the two different bodies, who both claim to represent the interests of professional players in Nigeria.
“Our administration is seeking to install harmony in all sectors of the game of football, and the players – the real actors – are very, very important,” Pinnick said.
“We are keen to bring this discord, this misunderstanding between NANF and APFON to an end. Football thrives in an atmosphere of peace and tranquility, and you cannot truly protect the interests of persons under a structure of disharmony.”
The meeting will take place at the Eko Hotel and Suites in Lagos and each of the bodies have been asked to send five members each.
