Dr. Ishaya Chuwang, the Spokesman of the new President of the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, Ambassador Christopher Musa Giwa, has urged Nigerians not to worry about statements made by erstwhile President, Melvin Amaju Pinnick.
Pinnicked had questioned the decision of the Supreme Court to remove him from office as NFF President. There are fears that FIFA may punish Nigeria over the court decision.
Lawyer to the Nigerian Football Federation, Festus Keyamo, appearing on Channels Television Tuesday morning had said Giwa is facing a worldwide ban and cannot be the NFF President.
However, Dr Pam told allnigeriasoccer that “since FIFA had previously respected Supreme Court decisions in other nations, FIFA is expected to respect the decision of Nigeria.”
He further said “Amaju Pinnick should also be held for contempt of Court as he disobeyed a Court injunction and participated in the Warri election which brought him in as President.”
Dr Pam said he was terribly disappointed that some highly placed Nigerians would flagrantly disobey the decisions of Nigerian Courts and would rather chose to obey alien bodies.
