The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), have insisted they are not looking to bring back former Super Eagles coaches, Clemens Westerhof and Jo Bonfere.
The two Dutch tacticians, have been rumoured to be among those who applied for the job, which is vacant since Sunday Oliseh resigned in February.
Westerhof was in the charge of the team, when they won the Africa Cup of Nations in 1994, while Bonfere who assisted him then, later took over and won the Olympic Gold in 1996 with the U-23 team.
“They do not fit into what we are looking for in a coach for the Super Eagles,” an influential executive committee member of the NFF told Completesportsnigeria.com.
“In their days I think they ranked among the best in the world but football has grown and we don’t need them now because we don’t believe they can give us what we want.
“We have several interested coaches both foreign and local but we have not decided on when to go for one because we don’t have money now and because we are yet to get sponsors or partners who will pick the bill for the coach of Super Eagles. But I can assure you that both Westerhof and Bonfere will not be considered when we are set because they do not fit our plans.”
