The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), has said that any state of in the country, is free to host the final of the 2016 Federation Cup.
Dr. Sanusi Mohammed, the General Secretary of the football house, made this know on Thursday during the draw for the last 64 of the competition.
“We have thrown the venues for the quarter-finals to the final open for interested states to bid to host,” he said.
“This is a new initiative meant to take the games all over the country. At this stage, there won’t be venue changes even if the home sides are involved.
“We appreciate the Lagos State government for hosting the Federation Cup over the past three years and we would be glad if they still want to host this year’s final. So we have told state FA’s to apply in writing to host any stages from the last eight.”
The round of 64 will be played between May 25 and 26 across the nation. The final is on August 28.
