The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), has stated that Super Eagles goalkeeper, Vincent Enyeama, is currently on 99 caps for the country and will win the 100th, if he plays in an international friendly against Bolivia on March 26.
Some media reports on Monday, claimed that the Lille stopper had only played 98 matches, but the NFF was quick to point out the inaccurate data being circulated.
The FA statement reads: “There is no doubt that a lot of people have done extensive research on this matter. However, we insist that he has won 99 caps.
“Some persons appear to have omitted from Enyeama’s file, the Nigeria/Jamaica friendly match at Loftus Road, London on May 18, 2002, when Enyeama came in for Ike Shorounmu at the start of the second half.”
Nigeria’s game against Bolivia, will be played at the Akwa Ibom International Stadium in Uyo – Enyeama’s state of origin.
