The Electoral Appeal Committee of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), has nullified the September 30 elections that saw Amaju Pinnick elected president, just 24 hours after it upheld the results.
The Chairman of the Committee, Okey Ajunwa, stated that the three other members were responsible for hastily upholding the results of the elections and were not legal practitioners.
“None of them is a lawyer, I am the lawyer and I know the law, I have gathered the results of the committee and I will read them out in accordance to FIFA and CAF rules,” Mr. Ajunwa told journalist today in Abuja, before declaring that “the Elections of Amaju Pinnick is hereby nullified and he is been banned from parading himself as the President of the Nigeria Football Federation.”
He questioned the motive behind staging the poll in Pinnick’s state of origin, Delta and why Shehu Dikko was wrongly disqualified from contesting. He also stated that the election was marred by abuse and violence, with no FIFA observer present.
