President of Nigeria Football Federation, Amaju Pinnick, has vowed that his board is committed to ensuring the Super Eagles qualify for the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
Pinnick made this declaration in an interview with CompleteSports in Lagos on Wednesday.
The former Delta State Sports Commissioner, stated that the NFF was working closely with Eagles coach, Gernot Rohr and were impressed with the response of the players to the qualifiers played so far.
Nigeria have won their first two matches against Zambia and Algeria.
“We are impressed with what the Super Eagles and the coaches have done so far in the World Cup qualifiers, and I want to assure Nigerians that we are committed to ensuring that Nigeria qualify for the Russia 2018 World Cup,” he said.
“We are working closely with the coaches and also planning ahead for our match against Cameroun next year. We are also going to use the next Nations Cup qualifiers to prepare for the World Cup.
“I talk to some of our players often and I am happy with their readiness to make sure we win the match. We are going to make sure we monitor the players very well before the next camp opens.”
