The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), are hoping to convince FIFA, to approve a friendly match against South Africa.

The Super Eagles are already scheduled to take on Mali and Luxembourg, but the NFF want to arrange three friendlies during the FIFA window next month.

A top official told AfricanFootball.com that FIFA do not want Nigeria play three matches during the window as it will be “an unfair way” for the Eagles to improve their FIFA rankings.

“We still hope to convince FIFA to allow us play the match in Lagos,” another official disclosed.

The NFF is making its case, based on the fact that the game will be played by players from the local league.
