NFF assures Super Eagles of support ahead of Egypt game

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), has vowed to do all within its means, to ensure the Super Eagles triumph over Egypt in Kaduna.

Nigeria will take on the Pharoahs, who lead Group G of the 2017 AFCON qualifying series with six points from two matches, next month at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium.

The Eagles have missed out on the three editions of the tournament and NFF president, Amaju Pinnick, says they want to avoid a repeat of such.

“Our focus is on the game against Egypt and we know how important it is to our ambition of qualifying for the next Afcon in Gabon,” Pinnick told Completesportsnigeria.com.

“We know Nigerians are still disappointed with the performance of the Eagles at the last CHAN and we cannot afford to miss out on the AFCON again after our failure to qualify for the last edition.

“We don’t want to put our mind on qualifying as one of the best losers as that could be costly at the end of the day.

“Egypt are our main rivals in the group and we must do our best against them to ensure we qualify for the competition.

“On our part, we will make sure we give the technical crew and the players all the necessary support to ensure we grab the ticket”, he added.
