Neymar scores, provides assist on PSG debut

Neymar scored a goal and provided an assist on his debut for Paris Saint-Germain, as they beat Guingamp 3-0 on Sunday.

The 25-year-old completed a world record €222million move from Barcelona last week, but did not play any part in their 3-0 win over Amiens.

He however started their second Ligue 1 fixture, alongside fellow South Americans Edinson Cavani and Angel Di Maria up front.

There were no goals in the first half at the Stade municipal de Roudourou, but the visitors turned on the style after the break.

Neymar’s through ball for Cavani was initially cut out by a lunging defender, only to see the ball fall to Jordan Ikoko, who inexplicably back-passed past goalkeeper Karl-Johan Johnsson and into his own net in the 52nd minute.

The Brazilian set up Edinson Cavani to make it 2-0, before the Uruguay international fed Neymar for his first goal in PSG colours.
