Neymar Snr. has revealed that Manchester United were ready to pay up to £144million, to buy his son from Barcelona last summer.
Louis van Gaal was so desperate to land a star player, that he asked the club to put in a world-record offer for the Brazil captain, but Barca refused to part with their prized asset.
His father has now come out to say that his son is happy in Spain, despite having two years left on his current deal and was only thinking of extending his stay at the Nou Camp.
He said: “Manchester United is the club that offered €190m for Neymar.
“He has still two years of contract, but you all can be calm as my son is so happy here.”
