Neymar, Paulinho and Jo all scored, as Brazil began their Confederations Cup campaign, with a comfortable 3-0 win over Japan, in the opening game.
All eyes were on Neymar – who has sealed a summer move to Barcelona – and the forward took just three minutes to get off the mark. Fred controlled a lofted pass with his chest and the former Santos star struck an absolute screamer, that left Kawashima rooted.
The Japanese, with Kagawa and Honda, failed to test Julio Cesar in the Selecao’s goal, as Neymar and co. continued to weave patterns around them.
Three minutes into the second half, Brazil doubled their lead. Daniel Alves’ cross found Paulinho inside the area and the Corinthians midfielder, struck an unstoppable effort.
Hulk and Neymar were withdrawn, as the hosts coasted to victory, but there was enough time for Jo to make it 3-0, finishing off Oscar’s precise pass.
