A newly born baby was at the weekend dumped in an old well at Kuka-Kwance village in Kaugama local government area of Jigawa State.
Jigawa State police command Public Relations Officer, SP Abdu Jinjiri, who confirmed the incident to DAILY POST Post in Dutse, said the police in Kaugama recovered the abandoned infant from the old well.
He explained that on Saturday 20/4/19 at about 16000hrs, one Abdulaziz lawan of 40yrs a village head of kuka-kwance brought complain to police station in the area that a newly born male baby was dumped inside an old well by unknown person hours after delivery.
“The newly born baby boy was dumped immediately after delivery by unknown person,” he said.
He said police acted promptly by rescuing the baby alive and was rushed to hospital for medical attention.
Jinjiri however noted that police are investigating the incident to bring to book whoever have a hand in the act.
