Newcastle v Manchester City: Team news, injury concerns, potential line-up

Manchester City travel to Newcastle United on Wednesday looking to continue their fine form and record-breaking run.

In their last outing, Pep Guardiola’s side beat Bournemouth 4-0 on Saturday to take their tally of consecutive Premier League wins to 17.

Team news:

The Blues welcome back captain Vincent Kompany from injury and David Silva from compassionate leave.

John Stones is nearing a return from injury.

However, Kevin De Bruyne was taken off during the win against Bournemouth due to illness.

Stones could return either tomorrow against Newcastle or at Crystal Palace on New Year’s Eve following a hamstring injury.

Benjamin Mendy is out with a long-term knee injury.

Neither City nor Newcastle have any suspensions for the game.

Man City potential starting line-up:

Ederson, Kompany, Otamendi, Delph, Walker, Silva, De Bruyne, Fernandinho, Sane, Aguero, Sterling.

For Newcastle, they are likely to be without Aleksandar Mitrovic and Jesus Gamez.

Also, Mikel Merino and Isaac Hayden have knocks and missed the win at West Ham on Saturday.
