NEMA donates relief materials to IDPs in Kebbi

(NAN) The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), on Thursday in Birnin Kebbi donated foodstuffs and other relief materials to the Kebbi government for distribution to Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in the state.

The NEMA team leader Mr Ishaya Chonoko, presented the materials to the deputy Gov. Alhaji Samaila Dabai.

The materials included: 200 bags of millet, 300 bags of rice, 150 bags of maize, 2,000 mosquito nets, 100 containers of palm oil and vegetable oil and 150 packets of beverages and detergents.

Chonoko commended the state government for its efforts to resettle the IDPs and urged the people to accommodate them in order to give them a sense of belonging .

In his remark, the deputy governor commended the agency for providing the relief materials to the IDPs especially on the eve of the Eid-el Fitri celebration and assured the agency of equitable distribution to the beneficiaries. (NAN)
