Uche Nwofor, scored twice after coming off the bench, as Nigeria extended their dominance over South Africa.

Coach Stephen Keshi started the game with Ameobi, Oduamadi and Nsofor in attack for the Super Eagles, but it was the midfield trio of Onazi, Mba and Ogu that caught the eye. Ogu especially tested Khune several times and was unlucky to score in the first half, after he saw his effort come off the bar.

However, four minutes into the second half, Nwofor who was on in place of Ameobi, broke the deadlock with a fine finish. The striker received Ogu’s pass behind him, but showed flexibility and awareness to lift the ball over the keeper.

In the 67th minute, Mba released Ahmed Musa in the area and he unselfishly squared the ball for Nwofor to claim his second.
