War and the Smell of Blood, Sweat, Tears…
“Biafra was a child of circumstance, conceived in sorrow, born in the face of tremendous odds, weaned in sacrifice and deprivation. There was really no alternative to Biafra…”
– The Biafra Leader
Preamble
Fellow Nigerians, I also have to add hunger, sickness, immorality, degradation, destruction, and any other evil we can think of. All these pertain to war.
When the first World War (Aug. 1914 – Nov. 1918) dragged to a halt, there was a lot of rejoicing throughout Europe, lots of people, especially the statesmen, boasted there will be no more wars for a very long time to come. How wrong they were! Barely 22 years later on 1st September 1939, a more terrible war had broken out throughout the world. It had however started from Europe. The second World War had consumed over 70 million humans, and 6 million of them had been Jews. What a terrible war!
Is another war looming in our dear country? You see, Nigeria is walking slowly, stupidly and languidly towards the age of a social, economic, religious and military precipice. Our problems are actually many. Do we talk about the greedy politicians? 2019 is around the corner, and many of them can do anything to achieve victory. Visiting shrines is not ruled out. Human sacrifice is the order of the day. Fortunately, we still have some altruistic politicians in our midst. Another problem now facing us has to do with the corrupt INEC. At the end of every General Election, many of them buy new cars, properties, etc. They do not allow our votes to count. With the aid of our politicized security forces, fake results get announced and bad people become our leaders. Fortunately we still have some patriotic security men in this country today.
Our major problem today would appear to be the menace of the killer herdsmen all over the place. According to newspaper reports, they have now graduated into killing policemen. People say they are apprentices of the islamistBoko Haram bastards; who knows for sure? If Mr. President does not deal with them, 2019 will not work.
Finally in this preamble, I want to make it clear that I have no business with OBJ. I have not seen his write up. My original email is dated 15th January 2018. It went out about 9 days before OBJ’s Letter. I had posted it to key organizations and establishments whose email addresses I could not lay hands on. I neither like nor dislike OBJ’s politics and polices, but if you must know, he is oneNigerian who ought to be languishing somewhere instead of strutting about all over the place as a statesman.
…Indeed, there was no alternative to Biafra in 1967. Igbos were not only pushed to the wall- we were also pinned to the wall. If you were in our shoes, would you have folded your arms and watched our enemies repeat what they did in the North, on our very own soil?
We have forgiven them all, but we shall not forget. Our children and grandchildren will only forget at their own risk.
It was Colonel Yakubu Gowon who resisted all the efforts at peace. Actually, he was the one who caused the war after having thrown away the agreement at ABURI. I had monitored the ABURI meeting early in January 1967; I had been tuned to the BBC, Radio Nigeria, Radio South Africa and Radio Ghana. Everybody present had offered his views, including Lt. Colonel Gowon.Gen. Ankrah was very happy; everybody shook the hands of others. Gowon embraced Ojukwu, thereafter he gave the vote of thanks, and everybody went home.
48 hours later, Radio Nigeria had announced the repudiation of the ABURI ACCORD. They had some silly reasons to support their madness. One of the reasons was that they could not understand Ojukwu’s Oxford English. How about that for half-baked Military Governors? Their second reason was that the agenda for the meeting was not made clear to everybody. But then, those agenda were prepared by Gowon and his aides in Lagos. So, how could they blame Ojukwu for the errors of Gowon? It was after this incident that everybody got to know that Gowon and his masters in the North did not really want peace in Nigeria. Now they have started again, or haven’t they? This time around, no malicious fool would dare blame “Ojukwu and Igbos” all over again.
DOES PMB HATE IGBOS?
Well, let me not use the word hatred, it is a strong and negative word. Let me put it as “disdain”. It was in December, 1983 that I met PMB for the first time. Of course, the meeting was on television and radio after he had overthrownShagari’s NPN. Incidentally, every top political actor was arrested. In fact the Vice President, Dr. Alex Ekwueme was the very first man to be picked up. He was locked up at Kirikiri prison. His boss ShehuShagari was placed under ordinary house arrest. People pleaded with Buhari to bring out Alex Ekwueme from the prison; afterall he was one of the most honest politicians of the second Republic.
The new Head of States pretended not to hear all the pleas. Rumors had it that the matter had almost split the Supreme Military Council. People said that IBB had given it as one of his reasons for overthrowing Buhari. Apparently, Dr. Ekwueme’s ill-health began from those days he was locked up in prison, including Ikoyi prisons. Four weeks ago, in November, 2017, Ekwueme finally gave up. In order to salve his conscience, PMB had offered to make the man’s burial a State One.
I might as well say something about PMB’sMedia Team. Propaganda Minister, Lai Mohammed is apparently the leader. When the PDP was in power, Lai was a real Information Minister. He was sharp, proactive and indefatigable. At that time, he could really be compared to Chief T. O. S. Benson, Chief Edwin Clarke, Chief Tony Momoh, and even Dr. Ifegwu Eke of Biafra. Eke at the time was among the world’s best information gurus. The Biafra leader had to fly out to the United States to plead with Dr. Eke to accept being his Information Minister.
Coming to Femi Adesinor, I am not sure what is happening with the man. Is he as sharp as he ought to be? Isn’t he still the only Presidential Spokesman? I doubt it. There seems to be some undercurrents of disunity in the Presidential Media Team.
Let me ask a question: “Who did the final packaging as regards the 1st October, 2017 Independence broadcast by Mr. President?” We assume it was Adesinor; that is part of his work. I do not have to be a journalist to know this. That speech was shallow and lack-luster. It had also stopped short of calling all Igbos terrorists.
When the American Civil War ended in 1865, the United States Congress had instructed both sides of the War-divide to write books portraying their own views and arguments. They knew that when two brothers fight, each must bear part of the blame. President Abraham Lincoln wasted no time in signing the bill into law. This was why their reconciliation acts were gotten together before ten years. This is why they have peace, unity and progress in the United States which is far bigger than Nigeria. Here, what do we see? Our detractors blame us for virtually everything that went wrong.Yet they are talking of peace and unity in Nigeria.
Do they appreciate the significance of having blood poured all over the country? Do they read the Bible at all? God demands propitiation. The truth must be exposed. There must also be a reconciliation exercise. Almost 48 years after the war, Nigeria is not yet ready for reconciliation. So, who is talking about peace and unity?
Some weeks ago, the Senate President was giving a speech at the meeting of the Southern Senators at Calabar. I heard him say that there must be unity before restructuring.Indeed, I was shocked. Our number 3 man doesn’t know that before you count two, you must count one. Once more, let me say that there can be no peace, unity or progress in Nigeria until after a proper reconciliation exercise. My book represents the Igboversion of events between 1960 and 1970. Right now, there is so much ignorance, twisting of facts, and lies over the Nigerian Crisis. Some ex-Nigerian Army Officers had written balderdash over the years. Fortunately, mine is the most patriotic Post-War book ever to emanate from the East of the River Niger, and South of the River Benue. In fact, I already feel like the most patriotic author in the West African sub-region. Every Igbo person aged below sixty who fails to read my 20 chapter, 430-page book is a big joker.
This is supposed to be an email reflecting my book POSTWAR NIGERIA, RECONCILIATION & UNITY…! I cannot squeeze it all into a few pages as planned. However I will do my best. I just want to highlight a few aspect of the book. All the details are inside the best-selling write-up. These are the last copies.
THE BIAFRA LEADER
I have already written all about him in chapter 3 of the book. In 1967, there was no alternative to Civil War. However, this time around, there is an alternative. In part 1 of my book, you can read about the causes of the war, how we were pushed out of Nigeria deliberately and systematically, etc.
For 30 months, we had resisted a wicked gang-up of Nigeria, Britain, Egypt, Lybia, Sudan, etc. we had fought almost bare handed and on empty stomach. I can remember the antics of the Egyptian pilots flying Russian MIG fighters for the Nigerian Air force. They almost invariably concentrated on marketplaces, schools, Red Cross outposts, relief centers, hospitals, etc. In fact, one of the bastards almost got me. That was in October, 1969. We were in our Army camp: four of us had stood aside discussing some current issues. It was being rumored that France would soon recognize Biafra. Indeed, such was very good news which never came to pass. Suddenly we heard the sound of a jet fighter flying low across where we stood. Before we knew what was happening, the young man on my left slumped to the ground and died instantly; one of the bullets had pierced his heart.
I thank God I am still alive today to write the truth about the war. Fortunately, I am not a politician, so I am saying it right as it should be.
BEWARE OF COUNTERFEIT IGBOS
I was at Agulu near Awka when the war finally dragged to a halt on 14th January, 1970. Two days later, I threw away my Biafra I.D Card, as well as Biafra Army uniform. Many of us, including kids and women, began the long trek home. Sadly some people did not even know where home was supposed to be. They had joined the army from very far places. One of them was even weeping openly. He could not trace his way back home to Itigidi (near Ogoja). Again, nobody was sure of what to eat, so how could he go so far without transport? We were all sorry for him – at least those of us who knew where we were headed to. Luckily, we walked together in a group for protection towards Umuahia. Even after we got to Umuahia some other people had to find their way back to Arochukwu, Abiriba and too many other places on emptystomach. The trek took us 3 whole days.At the end of each day we slept on the floor somewhere. It was a horrible experience but fortunately, there were no rains. As we headed to our destinations, the Nigerian soldiers boldly and arrogantly abducted the women who accompanied us. It happened in so many places after the war. This is why today, there are many young Igbos, who are “Fake”. The scheming Hausa/Fulani oligarchy has been using the offspring of the abducted Igbo women as the Igbo quota in the Army, Navy, Airforce, Police, Immigration, Customs, etc. Well, at least 80% of the Igbo quota in Nigeria fell under this untoward situation. So beware of counterfeit Igbos.
IS NIGERIA TRAGICALLY HEADING FOR ANOTHER WAR?
Before I continue I wish to make my position clear on the “New Biafra Agitation”. I was a soldier in the old Biafra. Several years after the war, I wrote my book which is aimed at engendering genuine peace and unity in Nigeria. Many people have been asking me, “What do you think of the agitation for a new Biafra?” My answer has always been the same:I am not interested in a new Biafra. I am only keen on disseminating the historicity of the old one. Again, I am now, by faith, a citizen of the Kingdom of God’s dear son Jesus Christ; so, I have no citizenship problems. I invite you to become a citizen of my great country.
About 3 months ago, president Buhari had indirectly made mention of a looming war. According to him, wars are caused by the masses. At least this was what I understood from his statement. If so, I beg to respectfully disagree with him.
I must also stress the fact that any country that fights two civil wars would be doomed to oblivion. Let us now look at a man who caused a war in Nigeria, but shifted the blame to others. I mean General Yakubu Gowon.
The plotter of the January 1966 coup had the mind to release Chief Awolowo from prison and install him as the Prime Minister of Nigeria. At least the Yoruba officers had given this as a condition for their participation. When the coup failed, General Ironsi became Head of State. Incidentally, he had foiled the plot in Lagos. Colonel Ojokwu had donelikewise in Kano. General Ironsi was an honest and brave man. However, he was politically naïve. One of the first things he did was to bring out Yakubu Gowon from the doldrums and make him his Army Chief of Staff. Every key official was a northerner. The Chief Security Officer, the ADC, the Head of Police, the Head of Intelligence, his driver and even his cook were all from the north. He kept Igbos at arm’s length. The northerner had a plan but Ironsi did not know it.So they went ahead to advice that he should proscribe all Igbo Town Unions in the North. If these unions had been in place, they would have stopped the murder of Ironsi by revealing to him pertinent intelligence reports. The scheming North also persuaded him to sack the Chairman of the Nigeria Railway Cooperation, Dr. OkechukwuIkejiani. That was the beginning of the end for the Nigeria Railway Cooperation. The Yoruba, Hausas, Indians, Chinese and all the rest of them had tinkered with the cooperation. Millions of dollars went down into the drain and into many pockets.
Gowon was truly Ironsi’s blue-eyed boy. Ironsi regarded him as his son. At any time of the day or night he could walk into the supreme commander’s house and food would be served to him. Ironsi’schildren had also loved him and regarded him as an uncle. Yet he was the one who teamed up with Hassan UsmanKatsina, TY Danjuma, etc. to murder Ironsi in cold blood. Has he gone to see Mrs. Ironsi at Umuahia? I doubt it. However, I advice him to go andseek her forgiveness.
Yakubu Gowon is an ungrateful and slippery customer. During the war he had a clash with Colonel Benjamin Adekunle. In fact he was afraid of the Colonel. This was why he removed him from the third Commando Division and replaced him with Colonel Obasanjo. After the war, Gowon had set up Adekunle and eventually kicked him out of the army. He also had a big quarrel with Colonel Murtala Mohammed. This was after the Biafra army had ambushed the second division at Abagana. MurtalaMohammed was not happy at the way Gowon insulted him. After all, the General had never been to any war front. Mohammed had wanted to resign his position but many top army officers had pleaded with him. It was him who had picked out Gowon as Head of State in 1975.
PDP (THE DEVIL), APC (THE DEEP SEA)
I am not a party man, but I am not politically-daft. Chapter 12 of my book is about the PDP wholly and entirely. Every sensible politician in Nigeria must endeavor to read that chapter as quickly as possible. After 16 years on the throne and trillions of Naira in expenditure, there is nothing much to show for their advent. Our electricity supply has not improved one bit. Our elections have become more farcical throughout the 16years. Our medical facilities have never improved. Sharia was allowed to come in through the back window. Obasanjo had tried to elongate his tenure. Hundreds of Millions of Naira had been spent on this undemocratic “Project”. Several Federal Lawmakers had been bribed to the tune of hundreds of millions of Naira. Today, they are still in the Senate and House of Reps making laws for you and I. Some of them had been identified or mentioned in my book. Do you know that 3 days before Obasanjo left in May, 2007, he had awarded a railway contract to the Chinese. I can go on and on to list the sins of the PDP, yet they want to come back in 2019. They have not even bothered to tell us what they have in store for us, or even apologized to us. What a big shame.
Now to the APC (the deep sea)these fellows are almost 3 years in office but we have not seen much from them. Their anti-corruption war, as far as I am concerned, is a sham. At best, it is one sided. The APC is also very nepotic and arrogant. Many of those who surround Mr. President are unpatriotic crooks. The APC is also talking about 2019, but on what basis? We need at least four parties in this country that willeach present a Presidential Candidate. The remaining parties should be scrapped. Shortly, you will read more about this in my book. Meanwhile, we have no confidence in either PDP or APC.
CAN PMB ENGENDER PEACE AND UNITY IN NIGERIA?
President Buhari has the powers to make a positive change in Nigeria. In fact his powers and authority are immense. Let us also assume that he is patriotic. However, the patriotism he will need to help Nigeria is not the ordinary one. He will also need a lot of political courage. The first thing he has to do is to forget about 2019. There are many people in his party who can take up the mantle. Now, the first thing he needs to do is to properly reform the Electoral System. We do not need all those parties. In the first place, when there are so many emblems on the ballot paper, many Nigerians get confused. This is why there are so many void votes in many elections. This has not made for credible, free and fair polls. There must be a way of identifying 4 or 5 political parties who have some presence in either the national assembly or the government house. Those 4 or 5 parties would be expected to nominate 10 people each. After a Security Clearance, they would allbe expected to go into a room, lock it up and elect their Chairman, Secretary, Legal Adviser, Zonal Commissioners, etc. No Senate confirmation would be required. It is wrong also for the president to appoint the Chairman of INEC. Can Nigeria appoint the referee in a match with Ghana?Of course not. I know that the Senators might kick against this but there is no going back. If necessary, Mr. President could summon the masses to blockade the national assembly and make them see reason.
Do we need all of 36 State Governments? Definitely not! 6 regional or zonal Governors should suffice. We can have 36 State Administrators (of Deputy Governorstatus). We also do not need all of 36 Houses of Assembly. 6 Regional Assemblies will do. As you probably know already, most of the Houses of Assembly are in the pockets of the State Governors.
The National Assembly could remain as it is, but their Embodiments, Allowances, Aides, etc. should be split into 3 and they will be entitled to one third. As for Local Government Chairmen, they must be told that they cannot have Special Advisers, Special Assistants, Chief of Staff, etc. There are Council Staff whose functions embody all such things.
A fraction of all the monies to be saved could be used to revamp our health system, as well as the universities. As you know already, our youths are being shamefully treated. This is why many of them prefer to go out to smaller African Countries where they are treated as slaves. Of course our youths are not happy at all.I suggest that no youth serving as a corps should be paid anything less than N50,000.00 monthly. Considering the fact that many people in this country spend more than that on their dogs each month, the APC Government should not ignore my suggestions-in the interest of peace and unity. I have a chapter on youths, and I did suggest a National Youth Welfare Schemein there. Please read chapter 14. I had suggested that after their NYSC, every youth should be placed on N50,000.00 monthly allowance for 5 years. I called it the “NATIONAL YOUTH UNEMPLOYMENT WELFARE SCHEME”. Is Mr. President reading me loud and clear? Let me stop so far.As I said earlier, in other to achieve all this and help his party win in 2019, Mr. President must repudiate his interest in vying for re-election in 2019. Is he sufficiently patriotic? Does he possess the political will? May God help Nigeria in Jesus name.
Lest I forget, do we need all these over-bloated Security Votes in the Polity? Also let us remove the immunity clause as pertains to criminal matters. This will greatly reduce corruption, or don’t you think so my fellow Nigerian?
NIGERIA’S TERRIBLE SECURITY SITUATION
Indeed, Nigeria appears to be one of the most insecure countries of the world. The Security Forces appear to be helpless. Apparently, they are doing their best but it does not appear to be enough. Actually, chapter 17 of my book is on security, wholly and entirely. However, let me point out a few things about the BOKO HARAM, their mobile unit called Fulani Herdsmen, as well as the Sambissa Fortress.
It is common knowledge that most key Security Operatives in Nigeria are from the Muslim North of the country. Consequently, they should also be held largely responsible for our security woes. For instance, the BOKO HARAM.Were they not the ones who planed and nurtured it,all in the name of politics and elections? Gradually, they became more and more violent and lawless.Judges made haste to acquit them whenever they were brought to court. Politicians had wined and dined with the fledgling BOKO HARAM kingpins. I remember that some time in 2009, they had raped and killed an Igbo Youth Corper, and she was thrown into the bush somewhere in Maiduguri. The matter was swept under the carpet.
Who actually are the sponsors of these murderous Islamist BOKO HARAM bastards? I mean even today! Where do they get the money to buy all the guns, ammunitions and other war materials? Who is deceiving whom?
Another puzzling matter has to do with the Sambissa Fortress which must have taking some years to build. It is in the same grade as the French Maginot Line which the French had built near the border with Germany between 1936 and 1939. ADOLF HITLER and his Generals had veered west, passed through Spain and landed at a point which made the Maginot Fortress more or less useless …
Where did all our security and intelligence forces go when the land and air traffic from foreign countries were moving into Nigerian territory with arms, heavy equipments, ammunitions, armored vehicles, anti-air craft guns and the several other war paraphernalia?
About 3 months ago, Fulani Herdsmen had allegedly invaded a community in Benue State, scores of people – men, women and children were murdered in cold blood. Also,a week ago they had repeated the same bloody antics in Benue State. It was so dastardly that therewere outcries from many parts of the country and the world at large. For once, the President had spoken about the atrocities of Fulani Herdmen. Mr. President, through his Media Adviser, had ordered his Chief of Army Staff and the Inspector General of Police to unravel the crime and bring to book the criminals. However as many had predicted, It was all window dressing – or wasn’t it? We are still waiting for the prosecution of even one Fulani Cattle Rearerin this country. In fact, most Nigerians at home and abroad are puzzled that it has become apparently impossible to disarm bloody terrorists whom we are told are Boys Scouts, what a big shame! Rather than do what they need to do to bring about genuine peace, unity and security, they are now trying to rope in the Igbos, through the IPOB. Igbo Governors must sit-up and tell them to leave us alone. Just look at the BILLIONS upon BILLIONS of Naira being supposedly spent on fighting insurgency in the North east.Of course most of the money gets stolen! I rate Buhari and his men just 28% as regards the anti-corruption war. Surely, no country can wipe out corruption.Absolutely impossible! You see, corruption is like prostitution. It can never be wiped away completely.
BORN TO RULE? WHAT’S THAT?
Let me tell youhow this BORN-TO-RULE syndrome or mentality came into Nigeria’s political Lexicon. During the 1954 constitutional conference in London, the Northern Leader, Sir Ahmadu Bello had insisted on his One North or, at worst, a Confederation. At that time the North was very rich. There were groundnut pyramids all over the place; oil had not yet been discovered in the South. That was the first time the North had wanted to secede. The second time was during the ARABA DAY RIOTS in May, 1966. The third and the last was on First August, 1966. I heard Gowon with my ears say so. According to him, there was no basis for Nigerian Unity. It was the British who dissuaded them by reminding the North that they had now virtually gotten everything. So, why all the silly talk about Biafransecession?
It was Doctor NnamdiAzikwe who bent over backwards and brought forth a compromise by allowing Ahmadu Bello’s man,AlhajiAbubakarBalewato get penciled down as the future interim Prime Minister of Nigeria, in place of Zik. The British was stunned at Zik’s Statesmanship. On his own part, Chief Awolowo was totally disgusted and said so openly too. You now know the genesis of the bitter feud between Chief Awolowo and Sir Ahmadu Bello.
Abubakar had become the interim Prime Minster in September, 1957.This had helped Ahmadu Bello’s party win the 1959 elections through rigging, of course. So on that wrong foundation, they had builttheir born to rule mentality having transferred all ormost of the Military Formations in the country to the North. Let me finally say that when Ahmadu Bello wanted“confederation”, it was alright but when Col. Ojukwuraised at ABURI, it became a grievous sin.Talk of arrant hypocrisy!
OBASANJO’S FRAUDULENT 2006 CENSUS
There is this ploy by our detractors to downgrade the Igbo population in Nigeria. We have the second largest population, but some people now want to place us fourth – behind the Ijaws. This was why the ex-President unilaterally removed ETHNICITY and RELIGION form the census data form. Is this not fraudulent, especially in Africa? This is why over 12 million Igbos in the north were counted as Hausa-Fulanis. This must be rectified. Fortunately the Chairman, National Population Commission is in a position to do the needful. Incidentally, both of us, together with the Minister of State for Petroleum (IBE KACHUKWU) as well as several others were in the set of 1975-1979 at the University of Nigeria, Enugu Campus.
Finally on this, let me now debunk the prevailent fallacy from the north of Nigeria which holds that population and landmass are synonymous. For instance, Kano State is about four times the size of Abia State. However, in an actual and authentic Census exercise, one will see that both states have virtually the same population. You might not believe this but it is true.
Again, a country like Sudan has nearly five times the landmass of Nigeria. However, her population is not quite up to half of that of Nigeria. Please read chapter 7 of my Book. ignorance is, infact a disease…
NIGERIA’S MAJOR PROBLEM IS BAD LEADERSHIP
Prof. Chinua Achebe in one of his books had blamed Nigeria’s problems on poor leadership and ignorant followership. I agree with him. In chapter 6 of my book you will see the Score Sheet of most past Nigerian leaders; you will also see that the North has been on the saddle for a little over 40 years. So don’t you think they should bear more of the blame for bad leadership? I cannot write a historical book on Nigeria without mentioning all the coups that have rocked the country since January 1966.You will see in my book that the Major Gideon Orkarcoup was the one that shook Ibrahim Babangida. The Major and some of his boys had nearly captured IBB alive in his bedroom. However the man had disappeared. His ADC Lt. Col. U. K. Bello had taken the rap. I reckon that the ADC’sjuju was not as powerful as that of his master. All the details are available in the book.
Let me now officially introduce my book “POSTWAR NIGERIA, RECONCILIATION AND UNITY…”(Ark Publishers, P.O. Box 1044, Owerri, Imo Sate, Nigeria, 2009). Part One of the book (Chapters 1-5) portend to the historicity of Biafra from 1960-1970. Part Two (Chapters 6-20) have to do with the history of Nigeria.Part of our problems in the country is that many educated people are historically daft, including professors. In a newspaper write-up about 3 years ago, one of them had granted an interview to a newspaper reporter claiming that General Ironsi’sadvent had helped lift up Igbos in Nigeria. What a silly, ignorant statement from a professor. Before Ironsi came, Igbos were already up there in every field of human endeavor. I advice every Igbo person who can properly read and write to read chapter 19. It will make you proud as well as sad. Before the Civil War, Igbos were first-class citizens of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Today, we are second class citizens. I am not one to beat about the bush or mince words. If we hadn’t confronted boldly Gowon’s Civilian-murdering troops, we would have been third class citizens today. You can see all that in my book. As I probably said earlier, it is the most patriotic book in Nigeria today. This unique book which has been read all over the world has provided the truth of the matter.Without truth, there can be no reconciliation, peace, unity or security. The remaining copies are not so many but I will satisfy everybody who makes haste.
