Traditional rulers of South-easterners residing in Lagos State, who identified themselves as Eze Ndigbo in Lagos, on Monday endorsed the candidacies of the All Progressives Congress, APC, presidential flag bearer, General Muhammadu Buhari (rtd) as well as the governorship candidate of the party, Akinwunmi Ambode.
Speaking on behalf of the monarchs at a press conference in Lagos, Eze Uchechukwu Nwachukwu pledged that come March 28 and April 11, Ndigbo in Lagos will vote for Buhari and the Lagos State APC governorship candidate, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode.
Explaining that Ndigbo has enjoyed robust and cordial relationship with the APC administration since 1999, Nwachukwu said, “After a strategic meeting of Ndigbo in Lagos, we have resolved to vote for the APC. Our interest in the state has been protected and we equally want to show appreciation by voting for the APC candidates.
“I call on all our brothers and sisters to use their vote wisely, by this pronouncement we have endorsed General Muhammadu Buhari and Akinwunmi Ambode.
“I equally urge Igbo to go about the business without fomenting trouble. Our new task is to look forward to the new dates given by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and participate,” he added.
