NDDC Chairman, Ndoma-Egba, condemns Anambra church massacre

The Chairman of the Governing Board of Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Sen. Victor Ndoma-Egba, SAN has joined other eminent Nigerians in condemning the killing of innocent worshippers at St Philips Catholic Church, Ozubulu , Ekwusigo Local Government Area in Anambra state.

Ndoma-Egba in a statement signed by the Special Assistant on Communications, Clara Braide commiserated with the families of the victims and the Anambra State Government.

He charged security agencies to bring the perpetrators of the heinous crime to book within the shortest possible time and expressed sadness at the dastardly act which led to the death of scores of worshipers.

“I strongly condemn the barbarism displayed by the callous attackers who gunned down defenceless people while they worshiped. This is an unwarranted and wanton desecration of God’s house for which the Almighty’s eternal wrath will visit the perpetrators ”

“While we still believe in God for our security, I urge security agencies to ensure that the perpetrators of this heinous crime are promptly apprehended and brought to justice.

“My prayers and thoughts are with the Government and good people of Anambra state at this time even as I pray that their grieving hearts will find comfort. We also pray that the souls of the deceased rest in peace.” the statement said. Also condemning the heinous act, the acting Chairman of All Progressive Congress (APC) in Cross River State, Mr John Ochala said the act was barbaric and inhuman and urged the security agencies to unravel the perpetrators of the act with a view to bringing them to justice.
