Rev. Tor Uja, Executive Secretary, Nigerian Christian Pilgrims Commission (NCPC), has confirmed that the 2017 Easter pilgrimage to Israel will commence on March 8.
This is contained in a statement by Celestine Ogugua, NCPC Head of Media.
The executive secretary said that Easter pilgrimage would cost ₦473,000 despite the inflation and exchange rate of dollar, saying that pilgrims would be entitled to BTA at CBN’s approved rates.
The NCPC boss urged Christians to take advantage of this unique opportunity and begin to register as soon as possible.
Uja urged Christians and intending pilgrims to contact NCPC, State Christian Pilgrim Welfare Boards (SCPWBs) or licensed Christian Pilgrimage Operators for the pilgrims’ application form and for more information
The NCPC boss explained that the commission in preparation for 2017 Pilgrimage has introduced various pilgrimage Programmes to strengthen the entire pilgrimage process in line with the ongoing repositioning strategy of the commission.
Uja said the programmes were introduced to ensure that every Christian enjoy the opportunity to participate in pilgrimage.
He disclosed that the commission would now run nine pilgrimage programmes in one calendar year.
These pilgrimage programmes include: Easter Pilgrimage in April, women pilgrimage in May/June, Pilgrimage Leaders Conference in June/July, Youth and Famers Pilgrimage in July/August, Judges and Magistrates Pilgrimage in August/September.
Church Leaders Pilgrimage in September/October, General Pilgrimage in October/December and the Christmas Pilgrimage for families, which is designed to provide opportunity for praying together and celebrating Christmas in the Holy Land.
