All is now set for the 2016 edition of Nigerian Academy of Engineering annual Lecture.
The event is slated for tomorrow, November 9 at the Transcorp Hilton, Abuja.
The title of the 2016 Academy Lecture being put together by the Nigerian Academy of Engineering in collaboration with the Nigerian Communications Commission and the Federal Ministry of Communications, is: “The National Broadband Plan as a Strategy for Social Economic Transformation.”
Expected to speak at the event is the Executive Vice Chairman of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), Prof Umar Garba Danbatta.
For Danbatta who has Broad Development as a major peg of his 8-Point Agenda, the occasion presents a tempting opportunity to give an update of Broadband growth in Nigeria and his plan to escalate the reach of the technology to the various ends of the country.
The lecture also underscores the Academy’s mission statement to provide input and leadership in national technological issues and policies at the highest level possible, through contributions to Science Engineering and Technology ideas in Nigeria and by extension, globally.
Earlier in the year, Danbatta also delivered the lead paper on Mainstreaming Information Communications Technology (ICT) for Poverty Reduction in Nigeria at the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies, Kuru, Jos, to the elite Participants of Senior Executive Course (SEC) No.38.
