Executive Vice Chairman of the Nigerian Communications Commission, NCC, Eugene Juwah, has blamed the recurring poor quality of GSM services being experienced by subscribers in the country on poor power supply, multiple taxation by government at various levels and the vandalism of telecommunications infrastructure of GSM service providers.

Juwah, who made this known yesterday through the Director of Public Affairs of the Commission, Mr. Tony Ojobo, said, “Having gone through the rigors of several meetings with operators, it is proper to let the public know that the regulator is not complacent.

“Only the elimination of some or all of these will provide the critical success factors in finally eradicating quality of service challenges.”

He admitted that the persistent challenges which have plagued the growing telecommunications sector in Nigeria were the monster making the quality of service to remain poor.

The Executive Secretary however declared that the NCC has not been complacent in its obligations in ensuring that the quality of service provided by the GSM networks is improved upon.
