NASS siege: Dankwambo reveals kind of President Nigerians should have in 2019

The Gombe State Governor, Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo has condemned Tuesday’s siege to National Assembly by operatives of the Department of State Services, DSS.

DAILY POST on Tuesday reported that operatives of the DSS blocked the entrance of the National Assembly, preventing lawmakers from gaining access to their offices.

This led to the dismissal of the Director-General of the Department of State Services, Lawal Daura.

Dankwambo, who reacted to the incident on his Twitter page, stated that Tuesday’s siege to the federal legislature showed that Nigeria was sliding into a state of totalitarianism.

He therefore called on Nigerians to vote for a President who understands the separation of powers in a democratic system of government come 2019.

“Yesterday’s invasion of National Assembly by DSS operatives is a clear testament that our country is fast sliding into totalitarianism.

“Come 2019, Nigerians must vote for a President who understands what separation of powers means in a democracy,” Dankwambo tweeted.
