As part of the moves to resolve the lingering crisis rocking the National Assembly, President Muhammadu Buhari will meet with members of the two factions in the House of Representatives later today, Wednesday.
Punch reports that the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, is expected to lead members of his group, while Femi Gbajabiamila will also lead lawmakers that are loyal to him to the meeting.
The meeting is expected to hold by 10pm at the First Lady’s Conference Hall, inside the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
DAILY POST observed that this is the first time the president would be meeting any of the leaders of the National Assembly since Dogara and the President of the Senate, Bukola Saraki, emerged contrary to the choice of the leaders of the All Progressives Congress.
Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu, confirmed the scheduled meeting to journalists on Wednesday.
