Coach of Nasarawa United, Kabiru Dogo has expressed disappointment over his team’s defeat to another Nigerian Professional Football League side, FC IfeanyiUba in the final of Federation Cup yesterday.
The Nasarawa State outfit fell to a 5-4 penalty shootout defeat against FC IfeanyiUbah in the final at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Lagos.
The defeat means the Solid Miners also missed out on the chance of picking a CAF Confederations Cup ticket.
Dogo, who was hoping to win his first silverware as a coach, praised his lads for putting up a spirited performance in the encounter.
He told Complete Sports, “It’s always sad when you lose in a big final like the Federation Cup.
“It was a tough match that could have gone either way, and I must commend my players for their fight.
“They gave their best, but you know there can only be one winner in a contest like this.”
