Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom has sympathised with the government and people of Nasarawa State, particularly families of victims of the gas explosion at a filling station in Lafia.
DAILY POST report that several persons were on Monday roasted beyond recognition and others injured in a gas explosion that occurred in Lafia, the Nasarawa State capital.
The incident occurred Monday afternoon at the popular Natson gas station, leaving many vehicles, shops and offices completely razed.
Terver Akase, his Chief Press Secretary, quoted Ortom as describing the incident as sad and unfortunate.
“He expresses the hope that emergency management agencies will ensure that survivors get timely medical attention.
“Governor Ortom prays for the repose of the souls of those who lost their lives in the incident and consolation to those who lost loved ones as well as speedy recovery of the injured,” Akase said.
